FWC Steering Committee

The Fairbanks Wellness Coalition (FWC) was created in 2014.  Our purpose is to foster wellness through primary prevention and advocacy, and our vision is a community where all generations experience wellness in mind, body and spirit. To obtain wellness in mind, body and spirit, we believe it’s important to strive to fulfill all eight dimensions of wellness.  We use them to guide our work.  These dimensions are intertwined and include (1) emotional (2) financial (3) social (4) spiritual (5) occupational (6) physical (7) intellectual and (8) environmental.

We are a coalition who operates under the umbrella of a non-profit fiscal agent. We are comprised of a diverse and caring group of Alaskans who reside within the Fairbanks North Star Borough.  We strive to always have members from the following sectors: Youth or youth-serving; parents; business; media; schools; law enforcement; religious or fraternal organization; civic or volunteer group; healthcare professionals; state, local, or tribal agencies; and military. We sometime contract with or provide resources like grants to organizations to help us with our work. Our current list of steering committee members represent, or are a part of the following borough organizations, coalitions, or groups:
