Suicide Prevention

Suicide Prevention

Our goal is to prevent suicide among 15-24 year olds.  In 2015, the FNSB saw a decrease in suicides compared to 2014.  While this gives us hope going forward, there is still much work to do.  It will take all of us to listen, connect and help.  Here's what you can do:

  •  Learn key local facts about suicide. (Read Local Facts about Suicide)
  • Learn to save a life by taking a Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) class.  For information about upcoming classes visit uaf.edu/ndac
  • Call the Careline at 1-877-266-HELP or text 4help to 839863 (textline available Tuesday through Saturday from 3PM - 11PM) if you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide or just needs to talk to someone.
